What Is Smart ABI?

The Smart ABI (Ankle Brachial Index) test helps our podiatrists compare the blood pressure in the ankle with the blood pressure in the arm. A low ABI can detect a blockage or narrowing of the arteries in the legs, which may indicate peripheral arterial disease (PAD). The Smart ABI test is non-invasive, painless, and fast. It provides an easy-to-read, color-coded report that indicates whether the patient has a normal, borderline, or severe risk factor for PAD. This advanced test saves patient data, which helps our podiatrists track patient progress throughout treatment.

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy

Experience The Healing Power of Pressurized Oxygen

hyperbaric oxygen therapy

Welcome to a world where healing meets innovation. Picture this: a serene chamber filled with pure oxygen, where every breath you take fuels your body's natural recovery process. That's the essence of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) - a cutting-edge approach to healing that goes beyond conventional methods. At its core, HBOT amplifies the power of oxygen, a vital element essential for cellular function and wound healing. Imagine breathing in not just any oxygen, but 100% pure oxygen, while your body is cradled in a high-pressure environment. This transformative therapy propels healing to new heights, encouraging the growth of new blood vessels, eliminating infections, and supporting overall recovery. Join us as we delve into the wonders of HBOT, where oxygen isn't just a breath of fresh air; it's your key to accelerated healing and well-being.

Why Choose Us for Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy?

Covered by Most Major Insurance Carriers
Treatment Options for a Wide Variety of Indications
Lower Cost of Care than a Hospital Setting
Quick and Easy Appointment Setting

What is Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy?

Oxygen therapy provides the patient with supplemental oxygen to breathe in, which can help speed up healing. Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) takes this one step further by administering concentrations of pure oxygen in a chamber with high air pressure.

This hyperbaric oxygen chamber helps the lungs take in more oxygen-which is 100% pure oxygen (as opposed to the air we breathe normally, which is 21% oxygen). Tissues receive heightened levels of pure oxygen which helps to build new blood vessels and eliminate some infections.

What Conditions Do Podiatrists Use Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy For?

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) is a groundbreaking treatment option approved not only by the FDA but also by the CMS, making it a gold standard in advanced wound care. Podiatrists specializing in comprehensive wound care rely on HBOT to effectively treat a range of conditions, including but not limited to:

  • Foot ulcers caused by diabetes (DFUs) or peripheral vascular disease
  • Complications after surgery
  • Rheumatoid arthritis
  • Gangrene
  • Severe bone or skin infections
  • Compromised skin grafts/flaps

Additionally, HBOT is also beneficial in treating inflammatory conditions, tissue swelling (edema), peripheral arterial thrombosis, and more.

How Do HBOT Treatments Work?

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) at our clinic is meticulously designed to ensure your comfort and well-being throughout the entire process. Patients often find these sessions to be tranquil and relaxing. The number of sessions required varies depending on the specific condition and its severity.

Upon arrival, patients are carefully prepared for their session within a hard-shelled hyperbaric chamber designed to accommodate individual patients (monoplace). Once settled, the chamber is filled with 100% pure oxygen, a gentle and painless process. Gradually, the air pressure within the chamber increases, enhancing the therapeutic effects of the treatment.

Following a period of approximately two hours, the air pressure gradually decreases, marking the completion of the session. Our highly trained staff ensures that the entire experience is seamless and tailored to your specific needs.

It's important to note that while HBOT is a powerful therapy, it may not be suitable for individuals with recent ear injuries or surgeries, active cold or fever symptoms, or specific lung diseases. Your safety and well-being remain our utmost priority, and our medical professionals will assess your eligibility for the treatment to guarantee optimal outcomes.

Unlock the Healing Potential of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) can accelerate the healing process for a wide range of CMS approved medical conditions. HBOT has demonstrated remarkable efficacy in treating diabetic ulcers, burn injuries, promoting collagen production, managing infections, and addressing late effects of radiation therapy. Some of the potential health benefits and positive outcomes associated with hyperbaric chamber treatments include:

  • Enhancing Wound Healing: HBOT stimulates the body's natural healing mechanisms, promoting rapid and effective wound closure.
  • Facilitating Tissue Repair: By increasing oxygen delivery to damaged tissues, HBOT aids in repairing injuries and restoring damaged areas.
  • Controlling Infections: HBOT has proven efficacy in improving infection control, ensuring a cleaner and healthier healing environment.
  • Encouraging Blood Vessel Formation: Through angiogenesis, new blood vessels form from existing ones, enhancing circulation and tissue nourishment.
  • Stimulating Collagen Production: HBOT triggers increased collagen production, a crucial element in tissue repair and regeneration.
  • Reducing Swelling (Edema): HBOT helps alleviate local swelling, promoting comfort and mobility in the affected area.
  • Mobilizing Stem Cells: HBOT induces stem cell release and migration to the site of injury, aiding in the body's natural repair processes.
  • Improving Perfusion: By enhancing blood flow to the affected area, HBOT supports efficient oxygen and nutrient delivery to promote healing.
  • Alleviating Inflammation: HBOT reduces markers of inflammation, fostering a healthier environment for recovery.
